Project Journal: Repeat Customer Planting in Bethlehem, PA

We were back in Bethlehem this week planting another 30 Green Giants for a repeat customer - one of the best parts of this job. Earlier this spring, we planted the first two sections along his property line. When we pulled up this time, we couldn’t believe how much those trees had grown: three to four feet in just a few months.

That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. He did everything right: good watering, good soil, plenty of sun, and even a few stakes to help them through the first season. It’s the best first-year performance we’ve ever seen.

The property backs up to a busy industrial facility providing bright lights, noise, and activity around the clock. These Green Giants are already making a big difference, creating a dense, natural barrier that keeps the home quiet and private. By the time they mature, they’ll completely block the view and absorb much of the sound.

This homeowner chose a staggered layout, which we don’t always recommend since a straight line can give the same coverage with fewer trees. But in this case, the spacing worked beautifully — a solid wall of green from every angle.

He had everything marked out when we arrived, which made the install go smoothly. The soil was rich, the site well-prepared, and the sun was doing its part. Days like this make planting easy and fun.

We finished up under clear skies and left behind a beautiful stretch of healthy, fast-growing trees ready to take off again next spring.
